Control Arms Campaign
The Control Arms campaign is now one year old - and on 30th September with your help, we achieved
one of our biggest successes so far. UK Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, joined political leaders of
8 other countries in publicly pledging support for an Arms Trade Treaty. As the worlds second largest
arms exporter and a permanent member of the UN Security Council, the UK's support for the treaty
is a major step forward.
But we need to keep up the pressure!
Please ask your friends, family and colleagues to join the Million Faces petition via our new online
sketchpad. This easy way of joining the campaign allows you to use your mouse to draw your face
online.

The more people who support the campaign, the more pressure we will put on politicians to take action
to control the arms trade.
Invite your friends to join over 200,000 people from around the world who have already called for
tough international controls on small arms. Archbishop Desmond Tutu, recently added his voice:
"Having seen the cost in human suffering of innocent men, women and children, in conflict in Africa and
around the world, I believe that it is time the global community establish an international framework on arms
control. We all need to support Amnesty International, IANSA and Oxfam in their Control Arms Campaign and
help make the world safe from conflicts and armed violence."
