Medical Research On Chimpanzees

The Green Party and Green Group in the European Parliament are opposed to animal experimentationm which is both cruel and bad science, and have been campaigning for many years for a switch to non-animal alternatives.

Elected Greens at every level are lobbying for improvements in all aspects of animal welfare, a complete ban on experimentation, and clear labelling of commercial products which have been tested on animals at any stage of their production. 

In February 2006 Jean joined with animal protection  groups across Europe calling on the European Union to increase action to replace animal experiments. Jean addeed her name to an EU wide petition, being collected in 11 diferent languages, launched by the Dr Hadwen Trust for Humane Research – the UK’s leading non-animal medical research charity.
