MEP 2005 For Justice And Human Rights
Jean was named the top MEP on Justice and Human Rights in October 2005 when she won the Parliament Magazine Award.
The award highlighted, acknowledged and honoured the work of MEPs within five categories including environment, justice and human rights, education and youth, and health and development. Nominations were made by NGO’s and not for profit organisations from across Europe for the MEPs that had made an outstanding achievement in the various policy areas.
“Its such an honour to be awarded for working on something you really believe in. Being recognised for this and nominated by people I have worked with is fantastic, but to win is completley unexpected! As a Green MEP I come across so many cases where people’s human rights are being abused both in the UK and around the world. It is vital that we continue to make sure this does not go unnoticed and move towards a fair and equal society.”
Jean Lambert, Green MEP
