Human Rights and Civil Liberties

Guantanamo action Jean has been actively involved in issues surrounding Human Rights and Civil Liberties for many years and in 2005 Jean was awarded for her work on Justice and Human Rights.

Jean and fellow Green MEP Caroline Lucas have recently produced a publication detailing highlights of their work entitled Peace and Human Rights: Green MEPs working for progress in the European Parliament. This covers the following topics:

  • The so-called ‘war on terror’ and restrictions on civil liberties

  • Opposing nuclear weapons
